Our History

Praise Covenant Christian Center began in the home of Pastor’s Jeff and Demetria Bass, December 10, 1995. In attendance with Pastors Jeff and Demetria were The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The next month Robin Bass, (Pastor Jeff’s sister) began to fellowship with them and the Lord soon added others to the fellowship.

After successfully filing all the required legal papers and being led by the Holy Spirit, the first official service was held at the Comfort Inn Hotel in Alexandria on July 14, 1996. The sermon Pastor Jeff preached that day was “How to break out of a rut.” Also, the Lord spoke a word of encouragement to the pastors that day saying, “and let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” Of course this word was straight from Galatians 6:9 and the pastors remember and stand on this word even today.

Through many ups and downs, joy and laughter, and almost fifteen years, Praise Covenant Christian Center continues to press forth in the fulfillment of the vision that God has given us, which is to develop you to be all you can be in Christ and to glorify Him. As we continue to spiritually maturate there should be no reason why a generation of praisers should not come forth and go forth.

We thank God in advance for many more years of service in the advancement of His Kingdom.
